While Ratty skilfully navigated, only just once hitting the bank, Toad entertained us with songs extolling his great virtuosity ! Thank you Allen and John for a wonderful mid summer performance.

You can see the goose on far right, the male goose is protecting the nesting site. The coot is harder to see – you can just see the stripe of her head behind the reeds at the front of the island.
The swans are fed in the morning and sometimes in the evening. It is special food for wildfowl that is more nutritious than the usual fare that people feed swans (often white bread!)
